The Church of BuVu

The Church of BuVu

Mac-and-Cheese

without comments

Just when we’re tipping back for a nap in the office chair, having made the tough decision to slack off from updating the website until next year, BuFoon John knocks on the door (metaphorically speaking) to invite The Church to share, vicariously, in another event in his plethora of Do-Goodery. (“Plethora” is Greek for “oodles.”]

Right now our usually temperate Northwest is plunging into what threatens to be a near-record stretch of 24/7 sub-freezing temperatures. A whole week! I understand why some of you are snickering – those who live where this sort of thing happens in June – but we’re not prepared for it here, especially the folks who live mostly outside, whether they really want to or not.

So, the BuVu gods dispatched BuFoon John to help out – unfortunately my phone was off the hook – because they like his attitude. He goes around acting like he gets a big kick out of it:

On Sunday the family will do a BuFoon Do-Gooder. I will make a massive amount of home made Mac and Cheese. We will take it to the Vets’ Center about 1:00 pm and will help serve a warm meal to  the homeless and those who don’t have anywhere to go. It’s a Ham dinner so the Mac and Cheese will be a good add-in. I am always humbled by the number of Vets who are struggling in this cold weather without homes. Got to Love those Vets and their families Big Time.

Love ya

Great time at the Vets’ dinner, served about 35 people including the chlldren. Santa came along and passed out stockings with gifts for the kids. Ham, salads, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese, pies and cookies, coffee and juice – great dinner. The snow and cold made it difficult for some of the folks to get to the dinner. Not a bad number of folks, looking at the cold and snow.

Love ya

What a BuFoon. This guy probably finds a way to have fun putting on tire chains. Before I go back to my nap, I should probably post these great photos:
