Check this out:
Guess who was there being honored?
JOHN JOSEPH, one of our very first BuFoons.
Where’s John? (I think I see him, over there on the right, eighth volunteer from the end.)
John is “retired.” LOL! LMFAO!!
I made him tell me some of the volunteering he does:
• Practicing one day a week at the Free clinic as a Nurse Practitioner In Port Angeles for homeless and underserved.
• Being a Service Officer, Disabled American Veterans, assisting Veterans to apply for benefits and disability compensation.
• Working at Veterans Counseling Center in Aberdeen, reviewing medical records and assisting disabled vets to access the VA Centers in American Lake and Seattle.
• Doing 2 classes a week as Instructor for Water Exercise Rehabilitation for people who have recieved new hips and knees, or who have arthritis , Parkinson’s disease or other conditions that requires (no impact) exercise.
• Conducting 3 classes a week of Water aerobics exercise for Cardiac Rehab or just for those who want water exercise.
• Serving as Monitor for a Support group in Silverdale for people who have had surgery for weight loss.
• Serving as Monitor for a Support Group at the Port Angeles Senior Center for Parkinson’s Disease.
• Whatever else he may be asked to help with at the Grade school or Middle school in Port Angeles.
He says, “I feel it’s my duty to give back as much as I can to the greatest country in the universe, after all it has given me so much.”
On Monday, he and the other volunteers had lunch with the Governor. Haven’t heard back on that, he probably told one of his jokes and got his ass arrested. You can’t say sh** like that to the Governator, John!
Cheers,
BuFoon Steve Gillard
Good evening fellow Bu-Foon’s.
The ceremony at the Gov-ners mansion was really great. AS I have told some of you in the past Her Honor the Gov and I knew each other well in High School in Auburn and graduated together in 1964. Our paths have crossed from time to time over the years with some of my activities and hers. When she called my name on Monday she paused for a moment and stared at me as I made my way to the podium to recieve a hand shake and piece of paper from the Gov. I took her hand and said to her ” Chris, It’s John class of 1964 Auburn.” she yelled ” OMG I can’t believe it hoqw long has it been” slapped both hands on the podium and yelled OMG once again we hugged each other laughing. she turned to the audiance and told them This guy is my old friend from High School We laughed and hungged and the rest of the crowed applauded . After the ceremony I got to introduce Helen to her and First Mike her husband and we got to spend a little alone time catching up on the past 49 years. It was a great time. The time spent was way too short but then she is the Gov and very busy.
Get out there and Volunteer you to can meet a Gov-ner and just mayby he/she might be a Bu-Vu Priest or better yet an old High School Sweet Heart.
As usual my fingers have a mind of their own pleace wade through the mistrakes and errors I’m sure you will be able to figure out what I’m trying to say.
Remember the Creator is your biggest fan.
Bu-Vu John.
